Capital of the Côtes-d'Armor department, Saint-Brieuc is located on the northern coast of Brittany, at the mouth of the Gouët River. The city is marked by its maritime history and its strategic role during the Revolutionary Wars. Several songs reference Saint-Brieuc, such as the famous "Le Petit Matelot," which talks about the sea and fishermen, or "La Ville de Saint-Brieuc" by Jean-Roger Caussimon. Saint-Brieuc is also known for its local products, particularly scallops, which are a pride of the region. One can also admire the beautiful landscapes of the Bay of Saint-Brieuc, a designated nature reserve, and festivals such as the Nocturnes Festival, which attracts many visitors every summer.
