About the Kilimanjaro

Truly the Roof of Africa, Kilimanjaro is a mountain made up of three main peaks, all volcanoes: Shira, Kibo and Mawenzi. It is known for its breathtaking ice cap at the summit, which explorer Johannes Rebmann had seen in 1848, initially wondering if it was clouds. Doomed to completely disappear by 2050, the snow on Kilimanjaro will live on forever in the books of Hemingway, Kessel and Jules Verne. The mountain, home to Maasai herders and Chaga growers, is prized by thousands of hikers who climb it while enjoying the incredible diversity of its fauna and its flora.

Manufacturing

Drawing

Through a single stroke, The Line represents panoramas of cities, legendary mountain tops, or even mythical music tracks visually represented by their soundwaves.

Cutting

Lines are laser cut from metal sheets, with an extreme accuracy. This step is carried out in France by several partners, including a cooperative company.

Gilding

Lines are gilded with 24-carat gold via an electrolysis process ensuring agglomeration of gold on the line.

Boxes and silkscreen

Despite significant production volumes, The Line keeps an artisanal manufacturing approach for its packaging, and uses a silkscreen process to guarantee an original and qualitative result.
