Toulouse, or Tolosa in Occitan, is in south-west France and is nicknamed the Pink City due to the colour of its local building material, terracotta bricks. The Concorde and A380 were designed in Toulouse. It is a rugby union city, and its club, Stade Toulousain, is highly decorated at the national and European levels. The team has won the French championship twenty times and the European champions a total of four. Its national treasures include Claude Nougaro, the Toulouse sausage, and Cachou Lajaunie; these hard liquorice candies come in an iconic round tin and were invented by Toulouse pharmacist Léon Lajaunie in 1880.
